4. How does it work?
Gear owners list their rigs, set availability and pricing, and connect with renters. Renters browse available rigs, contact the owners, and agree on rental terms.
For Gear Owners
1. How do I list my rig for rent?
Sign up for an account, create a detailed listing with photos, set your availability and pricing, and publish your rig on the marketplace.
2. What kind of rigs can I list?
You can list complete rigs or individual components (containers, canopies, AADs). All equipment must be airworthy and properly maintained.
3. How do I set the rental price?
Pricing is up to you. We recommend researching current rental rates at dropzones and adjusting based on your rig’s condition and demand.
4. How do I protect my rig from damage or misuse?
We recommend requiring a security deposit, verifying the renter’s license and experience, and setting clear terms in your rental agreement.
5. Can I control who rents my rig?
Yes, you have full control. You can ask for and review a renter’s license, experience, and jump numbers before agreeing to rent your gear.
For Renters
1. What do I need to rent a rig?
You must have a valid skydiving license (USPA or equivalent) and provide proof of experience directly to the Owner. Some rig owners may have additional requirements.
2. How do I contact a gear owner?
Once you find a rig you’re interested in, use the contact form on the listing to reach out to the owner directly.
3. Is there a minimum rental period?
This depends on the rig owner. Some may offer daily rentals, while others may require weekly or monthly commitments.
4. What happens if I damage the rig?
You are responsible for the equipment during the rental period. We recommend discussing the terms for damage or cutaways with the rig owner before renting.
Safety & Maintenance
1. Are rigs inspected before rental?
SkydivingRig.com does not inspect rigs. It’s the responsibility of the owner to ensure their equipment is airworthy and properly maintained as per country legal requirements. Renters should also verify the condition before accepting the rig.
2. How can I verify a renter’s experience?
We recommend checking their skydiving license and recent jump log. Communication and clear expectations are key to ensuring a good experience for both parties.
3. If you rent a car there is insurance for both liability and vehicle damage. How do you plan on addressing this? We’re more like Craigslist for skydiving rigs—a platform that connects fellow skydivers. Our role is to host the listings and provide contact information, leaving the terms and conditions up to the gear owner and renter to agree on.
Membership & Pricing
1. How much does it cost to join?
For Gear Owners we offer several membership options, including Solo Flyer Membership and Double Canopy Membership. Check our pricing page ( available in owner dashboard) for the latest offers.
2. Is there a discount for early adopters?
Yes! Early adopters receive 80% off membership fees. This special offer is valid for the first 100 rigs listed on the platform.
3. How do I pay for my membership?
Membership fees can be paid securely through PayPal, ensuring a fast and safe transaction. You can choose your preferred payment method at checkout.
4. Why is there a $1 transactional fee for each reservation?
The $1 fee per reservation, paid by the renter, helps cover platform maintenance and development. This ensures continued improvements and new features for both gear owners and renters.
Payments & Disputes
1. How do payments work?
SkydivingRig.com does not process transaction payments directly. All rental arrangements are made between the gear owner and renter with their method of choice.
2. What happens in case of a dispute?
We encourage both parties to use a written rental agreement and communicate openly. Our built-in review system helps maintain transparency and trust.

1. Can I list multiple rigs?
Yes! We encourage dropzones and rental services to list their full inventory and manage it using our availability calendar.
2. Can I use SkydivingRig.com for travel?
Absolutely! If you’re traveling and can’t bring your own rig, SkydivingRig.com is a great way to find rental gear at your destination.
3. How common is it for established skydivers to continue just renting gear rather than buying their own?
Buying your own gear is the natural progression for most experienced jumpers, but renting definitely fills a valuable gap for many situations. Here are just a few examples where renting makes a lot of sense:
A) Waiting for a new rig delivery. With current new gear lead times being so long, renting keeps you in the air without skipping a beat. Planning to downsize B) Renting gives you flexibility before committing to your next canopy. Testing before buying C) Want to try out a different brand or setup? Renting is the perfect way to explore without risk. Traveling D) Sometimes it’s just not practical to bring your own rig.
