Four-mode AAD from Advanced Aerospace Designs (Brussels) with PRO, STUDENT, TANDEM and XTREME modes, self-test at every switch-on and no scheduled maintenance; 20-year design life, battery replaced by the manufacturer (max 12 years). Activation stops below 150 ft (300 ft in XTREME); in PRO the actual activation altitude ranges from 840 to 1100 ft depending on body position.
MarS multi-profile AAD with Student, Intermediate, Professional, Canopy Piloting and Tandem profiles and BASIC / OFFSET HI / OFFSET LO operating modes for different landing elevations; activation altitude adjustable upward in about 30 m steps. Annual inspection by a rigger; service life 15.5 years or about 15,000 jumps; cutter life 16 years. Altitudes converted from metres.
